El Paso police homicide detectives arrested a Fort Bliss soldier in connection with a deadly shooting in the Cincinnati Avenue Entertainment District over the weekend.
Army Sgt. Marcus Lamar Hill, 23, was arrested Wednesday night on a murder charge in connection with a shooting that killed Darion Marquez “Quez” Williams, 26, early Monday as bars were closing in the nightlife area in Kern Place, police said.
Police said that Hill was arrested after a traffic stop near his home. A passenger in the vehicle, Sgt. Brandon Rishad King, 29, who also is a soldier at Fort Bliss, was arrested on a charge of unlawful carrying of a handgun.
